PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Children’s Harbor was buzzing with activity during National Volunteer Month as employees from Publix and New York Life Insurance Company donated their time to help enhance the campus of the non-profit agency, which provides a safe harbor and support to at risk children, youth and families, keeping brothers and sisters together, strengthening families and rebuilding lives.

More than 20 Publix employees from eight different stores throughout the Broward County visited Children’s Harbor to paint the homes on the campus. The painting materials were provided by Pegasus Painting and Waterproofing and Sherwin Williams.

New York Life Insurance Company employees repainted benches and spruced up the landscaping.

“Thanks to wonderful community partners like Publix and New York Life Insurance Company, the Children’s Harbor campus got a fabulous makeover,” said Tiffani Dhooge, Children’s Harbor president and CEO. “We can’t thank them enough for their generosity and for the hard work they put in to make our campus really shine. Volunteers are the heart and soul of non-profit organizations and they should be recognized for their support.”
