    Brightline Celebrates Anniversary and Brings Back Its #305Weekend

    From May 20-22, enjoy $3 and $5 SMART fares and weekend-long festivities at Brightline’s South Florida stations to commemorate three years of service

          MIAMI– Brightline, the only provider of modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail in America, is celebrating three years of service in South Florida with its third annual #305Weekend happening May 20-22, at the Brightline Miami Central, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach stations. As a thank you to the community for its support throughout the years, Brightline will offer $3 and $5 SMART fares perfect for exploring South Florida, Brightline’s first-ever food truck enterprise program, and special in-station events and pop-ups all weekend long.

    “We have received a tremendous amount of support from our guests and the communities in South Florida throughout Brightline’s three years of service,” said Patrick Goddard, president of Brightline. “The Annual 305 Weekend celebration is our way of giving back to the community and our guests who make Brightline truly special. We are thrilled to celebrate another year and many more to come as we expand to Orlando.”

    To celebrate its anniversary and return to service, Brightline’s #305Weekend will feature continuous programming and daily offers including social media moments, live music on a mirrored DJ booth with special food and beverages throughout the station and specialty goods at Citizens. #305Weekend station-specific festivities will include:

    MIAM CENTRAL

    The weekend’s festivities begin on Friday, May 20, at MiamiCentral at 2 p.m. with an official pop-up tent from the Miami Marlins and a chance to win giveaways, meet Billy the Marlin and the Marlin Mermaids. Beats will be provided by DJ Zev at Mary starting at 4 p.m. Guests who visit the station will also enjoy an Artisan Market in the lobby of MiamiCentral featuring one-of-a-kind items made by local artisans.

    Saturday, May 21, kicks-off at 11 a.m. with a tailgate takeover by Inter Miami CF at the MiamiCentral lobby featuring a 60-foot by 20-foot soccer pitch and special giveaways and food and beverage offerings from the winners of Brightline’s first-ever food truck enterprise program implemented in partnership with Miami Dade College and the Neighbors & Neighbors Association. The food trucks will be parked outside of the Brightline station on Saturday and Sunday and will highlight concepts by Ty’s Hometown Café & Bistro by Tywanda DuPont, Clarence Davis’ 13 Pirates Eat: and ZOEMANGetItandGo by Nancy Guerrier.

    Friday through Sunday, the station will be filled with the sounds of live music with sets by DJ Spinelli, DJ Zev, DJ LaTrice and DJ Richie Hell at the Mary bar, and performances by the two-time award-winning band, Marlow Rosadosocial, and The Jazz Band Trio. Guests will also get to experience face painting, balloon animals and a photo booth by Lola’s Events, shop local favorites by visiting the Makers Market by Vanity PR located inside Citizens on the mezzanine level of the station, and a satellite Mary bar inside the lobby featuring mimosas and bloody marys.

    FORT LAUDERDALE

    On Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Brightline’s Fort Lauderdale station will feature live music by a local band and DJ sets in the SMART lounge with bites by local favorite, Coyo Taco, on Saturday. Parked outside the station on Sunday, guests can enjoy fare from the Bona Bona Food Truck.

    WEST PALM BEACH

    Celebrating #305Weekend on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Brightline’s West Palm station will have a social media photo-opp pop-up by Discover the Palm Beach located inside the station. Entertainment on Saturday will include live art by a MOSAIC artist in the station lobby on Saturday and a live band on Sunday in the SMART Lounge.

    Looking to catch one of the sporting events happening over the weekend? Brightline can get guests to the Marlins, Inter Miami and Miami HEAT games with dedicated shuttles departing its station to-and-from the games.
