Historic service organization inducts eight community leaders

On the eve of 40 years of service to this community, the Links Incorporated, Fort Lauderdale Chapter inducted eight prominent community leaders on June 9, 2013.
The induction luncheon ceremony held at the palatial Signature Grand in Fort Lauderdale, Florida was attended by Links from across Broward County, Miami family members and friends to experience this momentous occasion, as well as church affiliates and community leaders. Special guest included members from the North Broward Chapter, Greater Miami Chapter, Altamonte Springs Chapter South Dade Chapters of the Links Incorporated.
Ethel Pearl Maloney, immediate vice president of membership for the Fort Lauderdale Chapter stated, “We are honored to welcome our new members. They bring with them Exceptional Experiences and talents that will allow our chapter to provide extended service within this community”
Our chapter members are our chapter’s invaluable resources and lifelong friends. Our efforts and contributions are strategically planned to make a difference prior to becoming official members of the Links Incorporated. These professional women worked to become united in Linkdom.
We are grateful for a supportive Community and for the reciprocal relationships that allow the organization to thrive, stated Mrs. Maloney. The Links Incorporated is an inter-national, not for profit Organization, established in 1946. The membership consists of over 12,000 professional women of color in over 42 states, the District of Columbia and the and the Common wealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extra ordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African American and other persons of the African ancestry.
