    TURKEY-GIVE-AWAY-12THIS-ONEGood people helping people

    The Kappa Foundation of Pompano Beach, Fla., the Law Offices of  Perry Thurston, Farmer, Jaffe, Weissing, Edwards, Fistos and Lehrman, P.L along with The Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord and a host of other  supporters  teamed up to provide Thanksgiving food items to groups of people.

    On Nov. 24, 2013 the team, which consisted of many volunteers with a passion to serve others who could use some assistance. The Kappa Foundation wants to give back to underserved communities as well as provide scholarships to high school youth. This year, 500 families were served in the communities of  Golden Acres Development, Canal Point (Phase I)  of Pompano Beach and LA Lee Terrace Apartments of Fort Lauderdale.

    “Our goal is to serve the com-munity well; we are nobody special; we’re just Good People Helping People, and next year we plan to serve 1,000 families,” said Jacqueline Sheppard, chairperson from The Church of Christ Holiness Unto the Lord.

    “This December the Kappa Foundation and local sponsors plan to have a bicycle drive for school children in need at Charles Drew Elementary School, we can only make it happen with the support of those who want to share the love. Let’s make it happen!,” said  Michael Rhett, one of the organizers.
