City of Miami Gardens ranks 51st in CQ Press city crime ranking

(BLACK PR WIRE) – Earlier this week, the CQ Press released the National City Crime Rankings Report. These rankings are accumulated from the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) statistics taken from the FBI “Crime in the United States Report 2012”. The City of Miami Gardens’ crime ranking is listed as 51st in the country, a notable improvement from their 13th place ranking in 2008.

“Each year since 2008, our Police Department has made great strides in reducing crime on our streets and in our communities,” states Paul L. Miller, Interim Chief of Police for the City of Miami Gardens. “This is a result of the dedication of the men and women of the Miami Gardens Police Department, the leadership of the command staff, the innovation that has and continues to be displayed, and the support of our City leaders and fellow employees that support our mission.”

“We are moving forward and working to build the City of Miami Gardens to a higher level,” says Cameron Benson, City Manager.  We are working hard to make that happen in our effort to build a stronger, safer and better community.”

The City of Miami Gardens has over 520 employees who are committed to advocating for the safety and well-being of the community. Currently celebrating its 10th Year Anniversary, Miami Gardens is the third largest City in Miami Dade County and the largest predominantly Black city south of Atlanta. From restaurants, shopping, and concerts to parks, recreation, and sports, the City of Miami Gardens offers something for everyone. The city is home to the Miami Dolphins, University of Miami Football, and two world-class universities – Florida Memorial University and St. Thomas University. The City is also home to the renowned Jazz in the Gardens Concert.
