Her second two-year term ends July 2014. She is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., brings a wealth of experience to the position and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Since 1998, McKinley has been employed with the Broward County School Board. Currently, she is the manager of Internal Funds for the Office of the Chief Auditor. She has also worked as an auditor for the City of Miami and the U S Government Accounting Office.

McKinley is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Government Finance Officers Association. She has also presented financial courses on investing and other financial aspects.  Showcasing her financial acumen in a broader arena, she was featured in Black Enterprise Magazine, and appeared as an expert financial analyst on the televised Black Enterprise Business Report Pro-gram, June 2007.

McKinley has been a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for over 38 years since being inducted into the sorority in 1973, through the Alpha Pi Chapter at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia. There she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1976 and later received a master’s degree in ac-counting from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill.         For more than 27 years, she has served the sorority in the Fort Lauderdale community as a member of the Zeta Rho Omega chapter, where she held positions as president and treasurer for several terms and received the distinct honor of “Member of the Year” in 1996. McKinley is still an active member of Zeta Rho Omega chapter serving as a member of the budget, membership, and leadership committees.
