(Black PR Wire) WASHINGTON, D.C. — On the 52nd anniversary of the famous “I Have a Dream” speech and the March on Washington, The Memorial Foundation, the builders of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall, is proud to launch an inspiring campaign entitled, Celebrate the Dream… Share the Dream. This unique digital social media campaign will allow anyone based in the U.S. and around the globe to share their thoughts and reflections about the March on Washington, Dr. King, other civil rights icons, their speeches and their actions that moved us. This engaging campaign will allow many to express through in their own words what the speech means to them and their family in 2015.

By going to the Memorial Foundation’s web site; www.theMemorialFoundation.org, visitors will able to record a message via audio or video and/or write a personal message or poem that reflects Dr. King’s historical message of justice, hope, democracy & love.

“We are more than enthused to launch this engaging and immersive campaign, which will allow many Americans and our to share their personal thoughts and reflections in honor of the legacy of not only Dr. King but other civil rights icons over a 30 day period,” states Harry Johnson, president/CEO of the Memorial Foundation. “With the pressing social issues of the day and they include: such tragedies as Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, the Charleston 9, the Confederate flag issue and the social unrest that is occurring around the globe, what better time to highlight the reason why we built the MLK Memorial, Dr. Kings words and the work that so many did promoting justice, hope, democracy and love for all.”

The mission of the Memorial Foundation is to keep the spirit and work of Dr. King’s living memorial relevant by leveraging the Memorial’s role as a beacon of inspiration and by creating events that offer educational programs that train people to work towards democracy, justice, hope, and love. As the builder of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington D.C., The Memorial Foundation has not only worked tirelessly to raise over $120 million to build a tribute to Dr. King on the National Mall, but they have also crafted the vision of a world in which the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial in Washington, DC serves as a global beacon to inspire people to apply the principles of democracy, justice, hope, and love in their lives.
