Broward schools plans to reopen schools for in-person learning on Oct. 5, Superintendent Robert Runcie announced Tuesday.

“We recognize there’s a population that wants to come back to our schools and those families should have that option,” he said.

Parents can choose which option they prefer via surveys that will go out next week

A note sent to School Board members Monday by Jeff Moquin (Chief of Staff) alarmed many teachers. The email said teachers must return to class or go on leave.

“We recognize not all our educators can return to the classroom. Requests for accommodations or appropriate leaves will be considered,’ Runcie said.

    This is a developing story.
