A smart man

A smart man will never be happy with an ignorant woman…..and vice versa!
I’m certainly not the smartest man in the world but I think I can tell when someone is trying to explain something to me that is not based on fact, has nothing to do with reality and borders on being plain stupid!
Let me give you an example of what I think is ignorance.
Someone I thought had a grain or two of sense told me that President Barack Obama abuses drugs because he smoked a little pot when he was a student.
They went on to say they would not go around anyone who broke the law and abused illegal drugs.
Hmmm? In my mind, I’m thinking this person can’t go any damn place! They can’t go to the family reunion because every family has a member or two that has experimented with drugs or is using drugs now. They can’t go to church because some members of the congregation and some preachers have used or still use drugs. They can’t go to City Hall or the State Legislature because if you read the news at all you would know many elected officials are using drugs right this very moment. They can’t go to school because some teachers, students and administrators may be using drugs. In fact, the best dope dealers are not on the corner in the ghetto or barrio, the best dope can be found on your local college campuses!
This person, whom I assume thinks they are wise themselves, suggested that if you smoke weed, for example, the CIA, DEA, FBI and police SWAT Teams are going to break into the houses of pot smokers and whisk everybody in the house to jail.
Well, the smart person would know that marijuana can be legally purchased in about 18 states and also in the District of Columbia, the home city for the White House, the Congress and the US Supreme Court!
I think marijuana use will be legal all across the country in a very short time.
Meanwhile, even though I think people should be allowed to do what they desire in their own homes as long as their actions don’t harm others, I don’t suggest that people run around in public violating public laws.
I just think it is so ignorant to say pot smokers should be hated, criticized and avoided because marijuana use helps them with treating an illness or helps them in some other way.
Now, the people that would suggest that anyone that has used drugs will always be a drug user is, to me, just too ignorant!
I know many people that once drank alcohol, once used tobacco products, once used prescription drugs wrongfully but stopped doing drugs when they decided to stop or to get help to stop using drugs.
But I don’t know anyone that was ignorant yesterday that stopped being ignorant today and will be smart tomorrow!
Perhaps, if someone hates you because you experimented with marijuana in the past, because you use marijuana today to treat a health problem or because you use marijuana as an anti-depressant, an appetite enhancer, a relaxer or for any reason in the privacy of your own home, that hate is misguided.
If you hate people that smoke pot for medicinal reasons and love drunk drivers, drivers that text, insurance crooks, real estate scamers, predatory lenders, loan sharks, gamblers, embezzlers, speeders, reckless drivers, child molesters, thieves, rapists, murderers and other law breakers that is not ignorance.
That kind of mentality is worse. That is crazy!
If you want to know how to tell if a man or woman is not smart it’s very easy. Just observe them and listen to them for a period of time. If they are not smart it won’t be long before they say something or do something dumber than dumb!
