Alzheimer’s charity fundraiser

Alzheimer’s charity fundraiser

My name is Sherry Dujon, and I am the visionary of “Loving Hearts for Alzheimer’s’’ in conjunction with the Royalty Mentoring Program and Alzheimer’s organization. I am hosting an Alzheimer’s charity fundraiser with all proceeds going towards research for support in finding a cure. My father’s name is Stephen Dujon, and he is currently in a nursing home due to this degenerative disease that attacks the brain cells from which has left him in a bed bound status. Individuals with Alzheimer’s often require increasing levels of supervision and personal care as the disease progresses. As symptoms exacerbate as the disease progresses, the care required of family members and friends can often result in increased emotional stress and health challenges for caregivers.

I hope to promote awareness of this condition. Perhaps it will encourage a clear understanding of the individuals and families who are affected by it. The purpose of my story is to invite you to this event on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Dillard High School, 2501 NW 11 St., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. 33311 from 3-5 pm.

The Alzheimer’s fundraiser is an afternoon of entertainment among Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders, Redline Lady Panthers, Urban Mystic, dancers, musicians, and various entertainers. Doors will open at 2 p.m. to “Meet and Greet” the cheerleaders and enter in raffle prizes. The attendance and support from the community at this fundraiser speaks volume because of this ongoing epidemic to find a cure. Meaningful action is necessary, particularly as more and more people age into greater risk for developing a disease that as of today has no way to slow or stop its progression. I am a proud activist in hopes of support from the community to assist with finding a cure for Alzheimer’s. If you have any further questions in regards to this event. Please call at (954) 756-2112 or email at sdujon@nova.edu. See you there.
