“One Last March”
There are icons and giants, and then there are great men. Congressman John Lewis was a great Black man by anyone’s standard, and he worked until he took his last breath. As a Black man in America, he never stopped working for racial justice, equality, and non-violence. His mentor was civil rights Icon Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and his entire life was dedicated to the teaching of nonviolence and “making good trouble.”
Meet Michele Hoskins, founder of Michele Foods Inc., a multi-million dollar business whose products are sold in more than 10,000 stores nationwide. Her line of syrup products has recently seen a huge increase in sales since the owners of Aunt Jemima decided to pull its racist brand from grocery store shelves.
Athlete and mogul Serena Williams has continually used her platform as an avenue to uplift underrepresented groups and spread awareness about issues impacting marginalized communities. According to Black Enterprise, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the tennis star is putting the focus on supporting Black-owned businesses that have been significantly impacted by the public health crisis.
During his 19 NBA seaons, Shaquille O’Neal scored 28,596 points and 3,026 assists. But he recently provided an assist of another kind, staying with a stranded motorist who had a blown-out tire on a Florida highway.

Today, the City of Opa-locka and Feeding South Florida hosted a drive-thru food distribution from 9 to 11 a.m. at Sherbondy Park Pavilion, 777 Sharazard Boulevard, Opa-locka.
Rehan Staton, a 24-year old man from Maryland who used to collect garbage to support his studies, has recently graduated from college and is now heading to Harvard Law School despite all the hardships he experienced.
