Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will observe “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Friday, February 1, 2019. The District uses this date instead of the national observance on April 25th to minimalize disruptions during scheduled testing.

On Friday, Jan. 25, the government shutdown ended, but with threats of possibly shutting it down again on Friday, February 15, the uncertainty lingers. As it stands, furloughed workers will return to work. Essential government workers will begin to receive their earned wages, along with back pay for time served without pay. But for many, it’s not as easy as going back to business as usual.
