Several hours after Hurricane Idalia hit, Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday went to rural Taylor County, where debris, downed trees and some power lines littered the roads.

         The 2023 Pepsi “National Battle of the Bands” (NBOTB) lived up to the hype once again, as eight of the nation’s top Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) marching bands captivated the crowd of more than 40,000 attendees at Houston’s NRG Stadium on Saturday, August 26th, with their electrifying performances.

     In the final game of the NFL preseason, the Houston Texans squared off against the New Orleans Saints. Inside Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, the Saints and Texans slugged it out through a gritty game that showcased both defenses.      At the recent 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Richardson won the Women’s 100 meters in record time – 10.65 seconds, the fastest time in the event’s history. It was her personal best and is .16 seconds behind the 1988 world record set by beloved sprinter Florence ‘Flo-Jo’ Griffith-Joyner. Joyner’s record of 10.49 still stands.
