FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Broward County is proud to announce four deserving honorees who will receive special recognition during the 22nd Annual Déjà Vu: Drift Away to Summer on Saturday, February 21 at The Guitar Hotel pool deck at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. The evening celebrates generosity, mentorship and brighter futures and will feature a special live performance by musician Uncle Kracker.

    This year’s honorees are:

    • Champion of Children: Manuel Catedral
    • Impact Award: Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits
    • Legacy Award: Dawn Stagliano
    • Inductee to the Alumni Hall of Fame: Chief Delrish Moss

“I have a long history with most of these amazing honorees that dates back to before I joined Big Brothers Big Sisters,” said Malena Mendez, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. “Over the last 15-plus years, I have witnessed firsthand their dedication to mentoring our youth and how they’ve helped grow our programs to have a greater reach.”

Champion of Children: Manuel “Manny” Catedral

Manuel “Manny” Catedral joined the BBBS of Broward County Board two years ago but has been a champion for children for far longer. He currently mentors a young man in the BIG Futures program, which helps high school students prepare for post-high school career and college readiness. He also mentors two young professionals who work for Collinson, where he is Vice President of Business Development for The Americas.

Catedral’s unwavering dedication to the BBBS mission and the children and families they serve has been nothing short of extraordinary. The Fort Lauderdale resident embodies the spirit of service and compassion that defines the organization, and his impact resonates far and wide. From his servant leadership as an engaged board member to his strategic insight on the finance committee to his boundless energy and enthusiasm during the Lace Up for Learning initiative, where more than 500 youth received brand new sneakers to start the school year, Catedral has consistently gone above and beyond. He has truly become a beacon of hope and possibility for the youth BBBS serves. His commitment, leadership and heart have made a lasting difference.

Prior to joining Collinson, Catedral worked at Mastercard and American Express, where he championed social impact initiatives that supported young students in Ecuador and Peru, an early reflection of his lifelong commitment to developing future generations. Beyond his corporate success, Catedral is widely recognized for his authentic leadership style that is rooted in service, mentorship and empowerment. His passion for coaching and inspiring others has led him to leadership roles across multiple nonprofit and professional organizations. In addition to BBBS, he’s involved with the Board of Directors at Hispanic Unity of Florida, Junior Achievement, the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association and the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association.

The transformative gifts from his current employer Collinson have provided BBBS with support to mentor 20 high school students in the BBBS office through the BIG Futures program. The young minds were equipped with the tools to prepare for college and explore working for a nonprofit. BBBS is thrilled to welcome the students back this year. Collinson, a global corporation in the travel and financial services sectors, fosters an environment and company culture that promotes mentorship. Throughout his life, CEO Christopher Evans has been deeply passionate and committed to mentoring young people in the U.K.

Impact Award: Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is a proud partner in our Big Futures program, collaborating with Stranahan High School to expand access to mentorship and career pathways. Through this partnership, Southern Glazer’s currently supports 15 Bigs and 20 Littles, demonstrating a meaningful investment in workforce readiness and a shared commitment to creating lasting opportunity for young people.

From their years as a BIG Futures partner in Miami to their continued partnership in Broward, Southern Glazer’s support has been both consistent and deeply felt. For the past five years, their generosity in providing spirits for BBBS events has played a vital role in elevating and strengthening fundraising efforts.

Southern Glazer’s impact is perhaps best reflected through their employees. Brian McGrath, Wine Supplier of Development & Marketing, was named 2025 Big of the Year, a powerful example of how the company’s values come to life through individual action and leadership. His recognition speaks to a culture that encourages mentorship, service and showing up for young people in meaningful ways.

Accepting the Impact Award on behalf of Southern Glazer’s will be Greg Rabinovich, Executive Vice President of Sales Execution.

    Legacy Award: Dawn Stagliano

Dawn Stagliano has served as a BBBS of Broward County board member for at least 15 years. As Director of Government Affairs and Community Involvement for Comcast, she has consistently secured financial support and resources from her employer for Big Brothers Big Sisters through the years. Comcast is a national partner of BBBS, and Stagliano advocates for them to provide support locally. When she created and launched Comcast Cares, BBBS of Broward County was designated as one of the beneficiaries.

Stagliano’s steadfast leadership has been instrumental to the annual success of Déjà Vu. Her passion, creativity and tireless effort have not only made Déjà Vu a hallmark celebration, but she’s been the driving force that has helped generate significant dollars that directly benefit the youth BBBS serves. Stagliano’s ability to unite supporters and foster an atmosphere of purpose and inspiration has transformed lives and created countless opportunities for young people to pursue their dreams.

Inductee to the Alumni Hall of Fame: Chief Delrish Moss

Chief Delrish Moss, a former Big Brother in Miami, experienced firsthand the life-changing power of mentorship. When he became Chief of Police in Miramar, he carried that passion with him, launching the Bigs with Badges program in the City of Miramar, generously funded by WSVN. The initiative pairs local police officers with high school students, equipping them with college and career readiness skills while fostering meaningful, lasting mentoring relationships built on trust and guidance.

Chief Moss brings steady leadership, initiative and innovation to the rapidly growing City of Miramar. Under his command, the department has achieved exceptional hiring rates of new officers and expanded its use of modern policing technologies, reinforcing Miramar’s commitment to safety, transparency and community trust. He is a former president of the Miami Police Athletic League and a longtime member of the NAACP.

With more than 40 years of distinguished law enforcement experience and a nationally recognized record of community-focused policing, the Miami native began his career in 1984 as a public service aide with the City of Miami Police Department. He rose through the ranks to serve as a patrol officer, homicide detective, public information officer and ultimately a member of the executive command staff. His work in Miami’s historically Black neighborhoods, including Overtown, Liberty City, Allapattah and Coconut Grove, shaped his enduring commitment to fairness, accountability and respectful policing.

In 2016, Chief Moss was selected from a pool of 53 finalists to become the first African American Chief of Police in Ferguson, Missouri. He assumed leadership during a pivotal period following the 2014 shooting of Michael Brown, guiding the department through significant reforms under a federal consent decree. In 2019, he returned to Florida, later serving as a Captain with the Florida International University Police Department.

His induction into the Alumni Hall of Fame recognizes not only his distinguished law enforcement career, but also his unwavering belief in mentorship as a powerful force for change in young people’s lives.

The 22nd Annual Déjà Vu: Drift Away to Summer will be co-chaired by Traci Miller, SVP and Shareholder at Miller Construction, and Nicky Tesser, Senior Manager, Regional Marketing at JetBlue. The celebratory evening will raise funds to support the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County.
