Broward County Transit provides service to early voting sites

Early voting runs through Saturday, Nov. 3

    Submitted by Doris Williams

Broward County Transit (BCT) has several bus routes that serve the Broward County early voting sites.

Early voting for the 2012 General Election began Oct. 27, and continues through Saturday, Nov. 3. Voting times are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

There are 17 early voting sites in Broward County.

“Encouraging our riders to participate in the voter registration, education and voting process is important to us as a public transportation agency. Our ‘Register and Ride’ event at the Broward Main Terminal held earlier this month, in partnership with the Supervisor of Elections’ Office (SOE), resulted in 35 new registrants, 64 registration updates, 11 absentee ballot requests and 17 poll worker applications among our passengers,” said Tim Garling, director of BCT.
