Broward Education Foundation hosted its Innovative Teacher Hootenanny presented by Broward Teachers Union, a western-themed gathering which celebrated innovations and creative accomplishments conceived by award-winning educators in Broward County Public Schools. The socially-distanced special event was held at Marando Farms & Ranch in Davie on April 8, 2021. Spread out beneath a large pole barn, educators were treated to dinner, games, music, hayrides, a tremendous raffle and even a demonstration of horsemanship. The Innovative Teacher Hootenanny recognized outstanding educators who developed, implemented and shared motivating curriculums that engage students and foster achievement. Broward Education Foundation also awarded monetary classroom grants which help teachers replicate the exceptional program successes of their peers.
