FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Broward Partnership has been awarded nearly $1 million in grant funding to strengthen its workforce development initiatives and provide essential services for families experiencing homelessness. The Jim Moran Foundation has provided a $625,000 grant to enhance housing and support services for families in crisis through Broward Partnership’s Families First! Program, while the Community Foundation of Broward has awarded a $300,000 grant to support job training and employment resources within Broward Partnership’s Workforce Development Program.

“These generous grants will have a lasting impact on the individuals and families we serve, helping them achieve self-sufficiency and long-term stability,” said Tom Ruthardt, CEO of Broward Partnership. “We are deeply grateful to both The Jim Moran Foundation and the Community Foundation of Broward for their commitment to creating real change in our community.”

With a two-year grant totaling $625,000 from The Jim Moran Foundation, Broward Partnership’s Families First! Program will provide critical housing, case management, workforce support, and educational resources to create pathways to independence.

“At The Jim Moran Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive,” said Jan Moran, Chairman and President of The Jim Moran Foundation. “By continuing our longtime support of Broward Partnership’s holistic approach to better overall well-being, we are helping families prepare for brighter futures.”

A $300,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Broward will enhance Broward Partnership’s Workforce Development Program, which equips individuals experiencing homelessness with job readiness training, career counseling, and vocational certifications to secure sustainable employment.

The funding will expand job placement services and employer partnerships, ensuring clients have the tools they need to break the cycle of homelessness. Support has been provided by the following Funds at the Community Foundation of Broward: The Robert Elmore Family Fund, Helen A. Chadwick Fund, Louise and Rudi Dill Charitable Fund, Helene and William Shillington Fund and The Frederick A. Deluca Foundation Broward Community Fund.

“The Community Foundation of Broward is committed to creating pathways to prosperity for all members of our community,” said Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Broward. “We are proud to support Broward Partnership’s Workforce Development Program, which provides the tools and resources needed to help individuals rebuild their lives and become active contributors to our local economy.”

These grants represent a significant investment in the well-being of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Broward County. By expanding workforce development initiatives and family support programs, Broward Partnership continues its mission of providing not just shelter, but lasting solutions that reduce homelessness and promote independence.
