FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — CareerSource Broward (CSBD) will host its first “Learn. Work. Win.” Job and Educational Opportunity Fair on Thursday, April 20, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Urban League of Broward County (560 NW 27th Ave, Fort Lauderdale). This event, a new collaboration with Urban League of Broward County and Hispanic Unity, aims to serve individuals seeking jobs as well as those looking for training options. “Learn. Work. Win.” is open, at no cost, to veterans, youth 18 to 24, individuals facing special circumstances, and those seeking a new career path. Special priority access will be offered to veterans and their spouses.

“‘Learn. Work. Win.’ provides a broadened approach to the traditional recruiting event model by bringing together numerous job openings for job seekers as well as top-notch training programs and scholarship opportunities for those looking to improve their skills,” said Carol Hylton, president and CEO of CareerSource Broward. “We are preparing our workforce for occupations in demand and showcasing opportunities that are available to them today. Under the same roof, job seekers will have a direct line to companies looking to hire, as well as schools that can put attendees on a path toward a new or better career for the future.”

In addition, attendees can engage directly with recruiters and apply for jobs on the spot. There will be an on-site Résumé Café where CareerSource Broward’s professionals can review, help to update, and even print clean résumé copies for distribution. Added no-cost bonuses for attendees include a ‘headshot’ (photoshoot) session and ‘job-ready’ haircuts. There will also be a ‘clothing closet’ where attendees can dress for success as they take the next steps along their chosen career path.

For those looking to pursue new careers, CareerSource Broward can provide up to $12,000 in educational scholarship assistance for eligible attendees interested in training programs, including valuable short-term training courses for in-demand jobs. Program information and eligibility reviews will be available during the event. Colleges and technical schools that offer training in careers such as nursing, graphic design, A/C technician, cyber security, dental technician, medical assistant, and more will be present.

Employers scheduled to participate in the Job and Educational Opportunity Fair include Coca-Cola, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Fed-Ex, Amazon, Dayton-Granger, Enterprise Rentals, Memorial Health, Miami Heat, Spirit Airlines, Publix Supermarkets and Warehouse, and many more.

There is no charge for admission to the event; however, pre-registration is strongly recommended. Registration can be completed online at: https://careersourcebroward.com/learn-work-win
