If you read the title of this editorial you might think this column is about the Conrad Murray-Michael Jackson debacle that was front page and top story lead on almost every newspaper, magazine or broadcast news show.

I’ve said it before – we are spoiled rotten. Reviewing Nielsen’s latest Cross-Platform Report, How We Watch from Screen to Screen, I can’t help but smile and remember the earlier days of ā€œwatching television.ā€ (You know, the one screen, the only option we had).

Black people help perpetuate negative stereotypes about themselves. Mary J. Blige’s Burger King chicken commercial is a perfect example. No-body likes fried chicken more than I do but no matter how good it is, it never makes me start singing with eyes closed and chicken held lovingly in my hand after I take a bite.

Let’s say that your four year old daughter found a loaded gun in a hotel room that you were staying in and accidently shot herself. Now for all intensive purposes, let’s just assume that you would do exactly what most people operating within the confines of good, moral, reasonable, and common sense would do, and that would be to seek medical attention for your child immediately.

The modern political party system in the United States is dominated by the Democratic and Republican parties. It’s important that Black Americans recognize that neither of these parties have helped us to gain political equity. Supposedly the purpose of political parties is to bring people together who hold similar points of view about government.

Little Bo Peep once lost her sheep and didn’t know where to find them. Well, the Bo Peep Commander in Chief appears to be losing some of his Black sheep and efforts to bring them back into the fold seem to be failing miserably!
