     Holt waved her Crist sign saying “We need a Governor!” The crowd said, ‘Beat DeSantis,” ”DeSantis has got to go,” while Crist added, “We’ll do it together!” When Joe Bullard announced      Crist as he passed the reviewing stand, his popularity was again on display.

     Cincinnati elected a Black majority on City Council and its first Asian American mayor.  Cincinnati has not elected a Black majority on City Council since 2011.  It is rare that a Black candidate dominates the city council race and Council Member Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney led the race as the top vote-getter.

     Because of the tight economics of interning in a federal office, particularly for Black college students, some have suggested that interns should be paid. Most internships in Congress went unpaid for several decades but after a great deal of lobbying in 2018 interns on Capitol Hill now earn at least $1,800 per month. 

     Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Congressman Charlie Crist pledged to bring equal justice to Florida’s judicial system as he traveled to communities throughout the state.  “We have to deal with the reality that our system is not fair and just; that our system treats different people, differently,” according to Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell. Worrell joined Crist, Orlando City Commissioner Regina Hill, former gubernatorial candidate Chris King and criminal justice reform advocates in presenting ways to repair a broken court system.

     “We will be ready to get shots in arms,” President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 response coordinator, Jeff Zients, said on Oct. 20 during a White House briefing on the plan, which includes supporting vaccination by primary care doctors and in pharmacies and schools.
