     Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Black women, and an estimated 33,840 new cases are expected to be diagnosed in 2019. An estimated 6,540 deaths from breast cancer are expected to occur among Black women in 2019.

Non-profit Holy Cross Hospital is assisting parents and caregivers in preparing students for the new school year by offering free immunizations for eligible students at back-to-school events across Broward County from July 13 through August 10.

     In a study published earlier this year by the American Psychiatric Association, Millennials were found to be the most anxious generation. Women reported higher anxiety than men, and people of color scored 11 points higher on the anxiety scale than Whites.

     In this article, I’d like to introduce you to TaLana Hughes, a mother of three who is also the executive director of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois (SCDAI). TaLana has one child with SCD and two children with the sickle cell trait.

     McGovern is the Florida Department of Health in Broward County’s Drowning Prevention Program Manager and her mission is to save as many lives as possible through education. Her passion about water safety stems from the personal pain she experienced on August 3rd, 2009 when she found her 19-month-old daughter Edna Mae floating face-up in the pool the child had been playing in just hours earlier. “Em” died eight days later on August 11th.

With funds provided by parent organization Trinity Health, non-profit Holy Cross Hospital recently invested $150,000 in improving outdoor spaces at several sites across Broward County.

For Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center’s (CDTC’s) physicians, care coordinators and volunteers, easing their burdens is critical to the entire family’s health and well-being. The Center is reaching out to the community to help collect and fill nearly 1,000 backpacks for children in their care between July 9 and August 2, 2019.

     The May 9th hurricane exercise centered around the fictitious “Hurricane Smith,” a made-up storm that made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in Tampa Bay on May 6th.  Under the exercise narrative, Broward’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated at 8 a.m. on May 9th due to heavy rain and high winds that caused widespread flooding and damage to the South Florida region.

     But hey, you know why! They all profit from this and they have rejected principles for the hope of prosperity. It has been said, “The love of money is the root of all evil…” Abortion is evil! Now, let’s see if “Black Life Matters” issues decrees of racism or denounces those who have posted their name up in an Abortion clinic. Abortion is solely responsible for over 20 million African Americans being killed. It is reported the Cherry Hill Women’s Center kills 200 children a week with a “Black Life Matters” sign in their window.

     According to the American Cancer Society, Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind lung cancer. African American men are twice as likely to develop prostate cancer and twice as likely to die from it.
