Every situation and instance become a part of our development. We internalize every situation and process everything that is happening to us like how we reflect on things in a meditative state as adults. The Black Archives Takes Guests on a Journey Back in Time with “If These Streets Could Talk” Exhibit, the Centerpiece of its Soul Basel 2021 Programming

November 18, 2021) – The Black Archives History & Research Foundation of South Florida, Inc. will open Part I of “If These Streets Could Talk: An Historic Exploration of Black Miami” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2021 during Soul Basel. The exhibit is dedicated to telling the true and remarkable story of Black Miami, from bygone days of incorporation to the revitalization of the decade. It includes up-close-and-personal buildouts of landmark buildings from Miami’s Black past, and highlights many of the people, places and events that were formative parts of the city’s history. “If These Streets Could Talk” was curated by Timothy A. Jazz Fest Pompano Beach Welcomes Grammy® Award-Winning Lineup – Two-Day Festival Features Arturo Sandoval, Dee Dee Bridgewater,  Nestor Torres & More!

Pompano Beach Arts is proud to announce the City’s inaugural Jazz Fest, featuring a dynamic lineup of music icons. The star-studded festival kicks off at The Great Lawn along the beach for an evening concert with ten-time Grammy® Award-winner Arturo Sandoval on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 8 pm. Day two is an immersive musical extravaganza at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. During the afternoon, the center’s ArtsPlaza will be filled with the sounds of legendary artists including Sammy Figueroa, Bryan Lynch, Magela Herrera, Ashley Pezzotti, in addition to emerging and student artists under the direction of Grammy Award-winning professor Dr. Ed Calle. Carl Woodard, Mays High (Class of 1959, football)

Carl Woodard was a 1959 graduate of Mays High School. He played football three years and was captain of the team his senior year. He played Center and Linebacker where he won honors for Center on the 1958 All-County Football Team. The 1958 squad, captained by Woodard, finished 6-3-1 and was declared co-county champions. He was a member of the 1957 Big Nine South Football Conference Runner-up team.
