     According to a recent Stay Informed report by the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center (NSCRC), Black student enrollment has dropped 7.5% among undergraduate students across the country. The biggest hit has been to public two-year colleges, where Black student enrollment is down 12.8%.

The rich cultural landscape of Miami’s heritage communities is something that the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Art of Black Miami (AOBM) program has been intentional about promoting. The celebration of the vibrancy of the arts and history within Greater Miami’s diverse neighborhoods is even more poignant this year. AOBM, led by the GMCVB’s Multicultural Tourism & Development Department, creates opportunities to showcase the community’s rich heritage.

     Like many HBCU students, Melissa Mitchell is a woman of many talents. As an HBCU graduate of Florida A&M University, she worked hard and thought she was content with her career path. But it was not until she had a random experiment that she unlocked her hidden potential. That discovery has brought her work to Vogue Magazine, Ford, Nike and even a collection in Macy’s! 

Florida based film Production Company; Bad Clown Films in association with Michael Malott Films has spent the past three months in production on a feature length documentary film focusing on the handling of Florida’s Covid-19 pandemic by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The film, entitled “Killing A State” is being produced and directed by Michael Malott who has been busy conducting interviews with Florida’s senator’s, representatives, mayor’s, doctor’s, teacher’s and residents of the state over the past three months who have been adversely affected by the Covid crisis for the project. 

     This book illustrates two neurotypical parents’ approach to establishing and maintaining a loving and supportive relationship with their autistic daughter. It is about one’s relationships with autism and autistic kids. Additionally, the book offers breathing techniques as an alternative way to ease the stress that comes with this condition.
