President Joe Biden welcomed a high-wattage collection of singers, authors, artists, and humanitarians to the White House on Tuesday to present them with medals — and then stole the show himself with a quip about seeking reelection.

The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation’s (NCBCP) Black Women’s Roundtable (BWR) hosted its 12th Annual Women of Power National Summit from March 15th-19th, 2023. This year’s summit was a great success, bringing together over 600 Black women leaders and allies across generations, from over 20 states and the African Diaspora for five days to share and strategize on high-impact public policy priorities, develop organizing and empowerment plans to lift and improve the lives of Black women, girls and families and focus on the importance of self-care.

The USDA Forest Service recently hired three female fire leaders to mentor interns with the Student Conservation Association, which aims to train the next generation of conservation leaders. The all-female team, called a wildland fire crew, is partnering with the Student Conservation Association, Clemson University, and the Forest Service’s Southern Research Station through funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Democrats and Republicans alike have said certain information of serious concern could be transferred to China, making it a national security issue.

While much of that progress occurred between 2013 and 2016, federal data show that more than 5 million people gained coverage between 2020 and early 2022, driving the uninsured rate down to a historic low of 8 percent.

District denies student’s claims in Pledge of Allegiance lawsuit

     The lawyers held a press conference with the Robinson family last Friday morning in Washington, DC to highlight the U.S. State Department’s failure to take action. They are demanding high level diplomatic intervention from President Joe Biden to help bring Robinson’s murders to justice.
