Will SCOTUS’ values, integrity, and oaths to the US Constitution influence their decisions to protect democracy from insurrectionists? Or will they retreat like mice? Now, SCOTUS faces a ruling for or against Colorado’s Supreme Court execution of Section 3, disqualification clause. Will they rule that Trump is ineligible to appear on Colorado’s primary 2024 presidential ballot?

With the start of Black History Month, I brace myself for the mis-telling of Black History yet again.
The Democratic Party, on the other hand, is asleep at the wheel. When something goes wrong, they are purely reactionary and not very effective. More importantly, when things are going well like most economic indicators in the United States, which signals effective leading of the country by President Biden, they are not good at promoting it. It is allowed to be disseminated through normal media channels with no sense of urgency to the point where the average busy American will never see it.
For those who are dismayed and disturbed by Israel’s disproportionate response to the Hamas atrocities on Oct. 7 last year, Oregon’s Senator Jeff Merkley and other progressive Senate Democrats are fighting their battle. They have been pushing for Senate action that would tie further US military aid to Israel on Israel’s adherence to international and US humanitarian law.
