Breaking the Law is Why Lawyers Get Paid So Much

     Back in August, I wrote that getting “back-to-school” this year would also mean getting back to fighting far-right attacks on education. The threats included a rising number of efforts to ban books, and the Right’s efforts to take over local school boards.

     Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan was a guest commentator on CNN’s coverage of the Georgia Senate Runoff between The Rev. Raphael Warnock and Republican challenger Herschel Walker.  Duncan didn’t hold his tongue at all.  He lambasted former U.S. President Donald Trump for personally picking Walker for the race.  He pointed out that several of Trump’s handpicked candidates failed miserably in the mid-term elections.  He would emphatically call for the Republican party to distance itself from Trump.

Many African American and other BIPOC news outlets are independently owned. Furthermore, these news outlets have developed and grown their audiences because mainstream media publications excluded the perspectives of minority voices. The Black Press built our own news outlets to support our own voices. As a result, this legislation would only further reinforce harmful racial exclusion trends, rather than actually help smaller local publications like those in the NNPA.

 Before addressing  Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Alito’s, Kavanaugh’s and Thomas’s pedigree , it’s vital that I remind you of the Supreme Court’s  past reprehensible  racists pedigree. The  foul pedigree  of the Supreme Court of Chief Justice Taney of 1835 influenced their  decision in the case of Dred Scott v. John Sanford as well as other cases.

     In early September 1868, two months after Georgia’s readmission to the Union, its state legislature expelled 30 of its Black representatives. The federal government interceded in 1870, two years after the attack on Black representatives, to make Georgia seat its Black representatives. Many thought this was a good policy for the government to take, but it was hardly a solution.

 A Washington Post investigation found that Trump’s company raked in at least $2.5 million in taxpayer money and $5.6 million in campaign funds during his presidency, — an incomplete accounting, as several federal agencies refused to turn over records to the Post. The Trumps’ illicit taxpayer-funded windfall included exorbitant overcharges like $2,600 per night for a house at Mar-a-Lago, $50 per palm for decorative palm trees, $7,700 for a catered dinner for 30 – more than $250 a plate — and more than $1,000 in liquor for a White House staff meeting.

   What most people didn’t know was Warnock was victorious because he did exactly what The Gantt Report said all candidates should do, Warnock fought hard for votes “in enemy territories”!

     His statement would be accurate if ungodly preceded America. The best about a godly nation should not be a person convicted of drug charges whose involved in a same–sex marriage. The Bible says in the book of Romans, chapter 1, beginning in verse 26, “God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
