     Evans Chebet of Kenya broke away from a crowded pack in the men’s field to win the race, which he did not finish in 2018. Chebet turned onto Boylston Street with a steady lead as the crowd cheered him to the finish. 

     For tennis superstar Serena Williams, giving birth to her baby, it turned out, was a test for how loud and how often she would have to call out before finally being heard.

     For four days, I can’t recall seeing Covid 19 numbers.  For four days I didn’t hear much about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  For four days I didn’t hear about politics, crime or any of the usual headline-grabbing anomalies.  All the talk for that time was about Tiger Woods and his much-anticipated return to the Augusta National Golf Course to play in the PGA Tour’s first major, The Masters.

      If you didn’t look around, you might not have noticed that Bragg Memorial Stadium, home of FAMU football, is under phase two of its renovation. That’s because the buzz brought about for Pro Day drowned out the drills, saws and welding equipment. An empty West side of the stadium created shadows on the field as the construction company prepares the brand-new bleachers for the 2022 season.

     For 27 years, the Games continue to be the premier showcase for Florida’s best high school hoopers, where they can show off their skills on the statewide stage and in front of college recruiters.  The 2022 class is set to make their mark on one of Florida basketball’s oldest and most historic events as they hit the hardwood in Delray Beach, Florida March 26th and Bishop Verot Arena in Fort Myers, Florida March 27, 2022.  Forty-eight competitively ranked high school seniors–comprising of 24 girls and 24 boys from South Florida and Southwest Florida–have been selected from more than 1000 seniors who were nominated by a committee of basketball experts, prep scouts, media, coaches and confirmed by RMF Magazine.

     The 49-year-old pro played in the APGA Tour’s first-ever event in 2010 and remains on top of his game as he eyes possible opportunities with the PGA TOUR Champions following his 50th birthday on August 3.

     John McKinney is a 1966 graduate of Mays High School. He was a three-year starter for the Rams and set the all-time career scoring record. He is regarded as the school’s greatest player in history. During his senior year he averaged 27.2 points per game. 

     A Washington football legend who made eight Pro Bowls and was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1984, Charley Taylor has passed away at the age of 80.
