On January 28, the well-known Black actress, Cicely Tyson, passed away at 96. Ms. Tyson was one to not work for only money. She once stated that the roles she played had to have substance. She was an Oscar Nominee and she has won several Emmys. An African American, Ms. Tyson is one who has paved the way for us Black girls. My condolences go out to her family, and I pray she has a great journey on her way home to God.
