FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The City of Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association, is sponsoring the Drop Savers Water Conservation Poster Contest to celebrate Drinking Water Week, which will take place May 5-11, 2013. The City is inviting K-12 students who attend Fort Lauderdale public and private schools to use their own ideas, designs, and slogans to create artwork that demonstrates their knowledge and understanding of the importance of conserving water.

Students interested in participating in the contest may visit www.fortlauderdale.gov/dropsavers to learn more about the contest guidelines and prizes, and to download the required entry forms. The deadline to submit entries is Friday, March 1, 2013 by 5 p.m.

Now in its 27th year, the Drop Savers Water Conservation Poster Contest calls upon the imagination and creativity of our students to promote the need for water conservation. It also encourages them to “green their routines” by learning about ways to incorporate water saving practices into their daily lives.
