LAUDERHILL, FL — Lauderhill Vice Mayor Melissa P. Dunn was appointed by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to become a member of the Tourist Development Council (TDC) – an advisory board for Broward County.

The TDC makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for the effective operation of the special projects or uses of the tourist development tax revenue. Board members continuously review all expenditures of revenue from the Tourist Development Trust Fund to ensure compliance with Section 125.0104, Florida Statutes.

“What a fantastic time to represent the City of Lauderhill and Central Broward by serving on the TDC Board! While International Cricket will be showcased at the Central Broward Regional Park the next two years, in 2024 we will host T-20 World Cup Cricket! This event will draw over a billion television viewers from all over the globe and thousands of tourists to our community. The economic impact to the great City of Lauderhill and surrounding communities will be tremendous! I look forward to advocating for and representing the diverse cultural arts this community offers both our residents and the world,” explains the Vice Mayor.

With one meeting under her belt already, Vice Mayor Dunn has already hit the ground running. Tough decisions on how to best allocate funds to deserving entities and projects is a great responsibility. Vice Mayor is serving a 4-year term along with 10 other board members. She is looking forward to the challenge and most importantly effecting change in Lauderhill!

Congratulations to Vice Mayor Melissa P. Dunn!
