MIAMI, FL — Recently, Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (FL-24) announced that the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation is now accepting applications for the CBCF General Mills Health Scholarship. Established in 1998, the goal is to increase the number of minority students pursuing degrees in the fields of medicine, engineering, technology, nutrition and other health-related professions.
“As a former school principal and an advocate for education, I know the important role scholarships play and how they can positively impact the lives of students struggling financially. Therefore, I urge high school seniors and college students, living in the 24th Congressional District, who are seeking a career in the Health Industry, and in need of financial assistance, to apply for this scholarship and take advantage of the opportunity to continue their education,” said Congresswoman Wilson.
To apply, students must go to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation website at, cbcfinc.org, to fill out an application. The deadline to apply is Feb. 25, 2013.
