     BROWARD COUNTY, FL – PEMBROKE PINES – The South Broward Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (SBAC) is hosting a virtual Financial Empowerment Summit on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. via zoom.

The purpose of the summit is to provide a platform for participants to ask and get answers to critical questions about three primary areas of interest:

  1. a) the current craze and uncertainty around cryptocurrency; our speaker has purchased practically any and everything using bitcoin;
  2. b) why/when to buy/let real estate serve as a source of income and
  3. c) how to use life insurance to do more than just bury a loved one but to build wealth

The goal of the summit is to educate, empower and engage people in our community who are simply unsure of answers to some critical financial questions about their own financial house. This summit will provide them with a platform to ask and get answers to those questions first by providing knowledgeable speakers to share their expertise.

Speakers included Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency expert, Rodney Burton, State Farm Agent, Lakitsia Gaines and Licensed Insurance Agent, Cassandra E. Joseph. “We don’t know what we don’t know when it comes to finances, specifically in areas like life insurance which provides not just money for burial but also retirement income, college funding, mortgage protection and, of course, legacy for those we leave behind,” states the chapter chair of the Economic Development Committee, Vickie Frazier-Williams.
