Emerging Young Leaders Program accepting applications

Chi Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s Emerging Young Leaders Program (EYL) is accepting applications for the 2012-2013 School year. The Emerging Young Leaders program is a Signature Program of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. for middle school girls that consist of four AKAdemies, designed to extend the vision of the sorority by cultivating and encouraging high scholastic achievement through: Leadership Development, Educational Enrichment, Civic Engagement and Character Building. The “Emerging Young Leaders Pro-gram” will develop skills and talents of middle school girls (grades 6, 7 and 8) with potential for becoming leaders within their local school, communities, as well as in other venues.
EYL meetings are held at the Kathleen C. Wright Leadership Academy, 2099 W. Prospect Rd., Tamarac, Fla. on Thursdays from 5-7 p.m. The program starts in September 2012.
