    Enrollment open for M-DCPS Head Start/Early Head Start Program

       MIAMI, FL – Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) Head Start/Early Head Start Program is currently enrolling eligible children for the 2014-1015 school year. Open enrollment will continue through Thursday, July 31, 2014.

    The Head Start/Early Head Start program is available to income eligible children two months to five years of age. Children with disabilities are fully included (on a case-by-case basis) into the program and receive a full range of developmental services.

    Head Start/Early Head Start

    offers comprehensive service for children and their families.

    Head Start

    · Full day educational program for three- and four-year olds

    · Child development screenings

    · Health screenings

    · Free breakfast and lunch

    · Parental involvement opportunities

    Early Head Start

    ·  Quality center programs

    · Support services for children with special needs

    · Developmental screenings

    · Health and nutrition monitoring

    · Parental involvement opportunities

    Parents may apply at participating schools. Applications will be accepted for services to expectant mothers and children ages two months to three years of age in the Early Head Start Program, and from three and four years of age (by Sept. 1, 2014) for the Head Start Program.
