POMPANO BEACH, FL – The 41st meeting of the Florida Statewide Organization Workshop, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., convened on Sept. 17-20, 2015 in Orlando, Fla. Hosted by Omega Beta Beta of Eatonville, Fla., the meeting established an all-time attendance record of 342 Omega men.

Eta Nu, previously established as one of the premier chapters in Florida, reaffirmed its lofty status by garnering six of the seven major awards presented by the FSO: Large Chapter of the Year, Social Action, Archives, Scholarship, Achievement Week and Citizen of the Year, presented to Dr. Avis Proctor, president of Broward College North Campus. Additionally, Eta Nu’s own Brother Clifford Wimberly was elected the 22nd FSO State Representative, succeeding the dynamic, visionary Rodney Rocker who for the past three years has led the 42 chapters constituting the FSO from Pensacola to Key West.

One of Brother Wimberly’s first executive actions as FSO State Representative was the appointment of Brother Samuel G. “Awesome” Clear, Lambda Psi ’64, as his senior advisor, an astute decision and well-deserved honor. Winning these state awards positions Eta Nu to compete on the district and national levels in same categories.

Brother Israel Charles, Dillard Performing Arts Coordinator and a member of Eta Nu, emceed the state Talent Hunt program.

Traveling by bus, approximately 30 registered Eta Nu brothers attended the meeting. Coming on the heels of the historic Education Center groundbreaking ceremony, the success at the FSO meeting epitomizes Eta Nu’s commitment to Omega’s mandated programs and Cardinal Principles: Manhood, Scholarship, and Perseverance and Uplift
