Caryn Wilson

Florida A&M University (FAMU) alumna Caryn Wilson is the New York Times (NYT) weekend audience editor.   In her new role, Wilson, a former editor-in-chief of the FAMUuan student newspaper, will look to reflect the perspective of the NYT’s audience to bring about fresh content.  “I’m excited to start in this brand-new role at the Times where I will work with newsroom leaders to think creatively about opportunities for audience growth on the weekends,” said Wilson. “The Times has always invested in me and I’ve had several interesting jobs during my nearly 10 years as a professional journalist.” In announcing the appointment, NYT Deputy Audience Director Anna Dubenko said Wilson will work in coordination with other editors to set objectives and goals for their audience, conduct experiments around coverage and programming, and hold one another accountable as they decipher what works for weekend readers.
