On Friday, Nov. 15, Florida A&M University (FAMU) alumna T.B. Darks, author of “The Fluffy Adventures of Fromo: A Sticky Situation” (2019) and “Wash Day” (2018), will visit the FAMU Developmental Research School Media Center to share stories of reading, writing, and the creative process with students in grades 2-6.

Darks will be on campus 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Darks is a recent graduate of Florida A&M University. A doctoral student at Florida State University, she continues to write books to teach about and express Black culture. Already on her third book, Darks hopes to positively influence the community through her writing. Her fiction is tailored for children and tweens.

The “Author’s Day at FAMU DRS” series was developed by Artency Jean, FAMU DRS Library media technician.

Jean enjoys fostering a love for reading with her students and looks forward to planning other literary and literacy awareness activities to keep her students excited about reading all year long. This series does an awesome job of fitting. Jean’s theme for this year: “Ignite the Reader, Elevate the Mind!”

Media interested in covering the event should contact Artency Jean at (850) 412-5930/ artency.jean@famu.edu or Andrew Skerritt in the Office of Communications at (850) 544-2675.
