“We are honored to have the legendary musician Nestor Torres at the Cultural Center for this exciting and educational event,” said Phyllis Korab, Cultural Affairs Director.

Jazz flautist Nestor Torres has been captivating audiences for more than two decades with his distinctive mix of Latin, Jazz and Pop sounds. By transforming the flute’s role in the current musical landscape, this remarkable virtuoso has earned a devoted following  and has practically established a new genre of popular music.

Torres, who is the Artist in Residence of the Florida Youth Orchestra, enjoys working with the young musicians and is enthusiastic about these concerts which expose young audiences to the joys of live musical performances.

This event will also feature interactive activities welcoming children in the audience to join in the fun! Families are encouraged to visit the post-concert “Play Pen” where kids can hold and play real orchestral instruments. Each young person will also receive a take-home book with musical activities.
