Former President Donald Trump’s legal team informed a court that he cannot afford to post a $464 million bond in a civil fraud case against him. This case, brought by the New York Attorney General’s office, alleges that Trump and his family business, the Trump Organization, misled lenders and insurers about the value of their properties. Trump’s lawyers argued that the requested bond amount is excessive and that it would effectively prevent him from being able to defend himself in court. The inability to post the bond highlights the financial strain Trump may be facing amidst multiple legal challenges. It also underscores the seriousness of the allegations against him, which could have significant implications for his business empire and political future. The case adds to the legal woes Trump has faced since leaving office, further entangling him in a web of legal battles.
