Make Sure You Are Counted in the 2020 Census

 Dear Friend,

As South Florida continues to face the economic and health impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, responding to the 2020 Census is more important now than ever before to secure the resources we need to invest in our communities and address these new challenges. Given the Trump Administration’s efforts to rush this count and threaten its accuracy, time is running out to respond to the Census by the new September 30th deadline!

Have you completed the 2020 Census?

Yes

No

The Census is the most important count of people in our country and it only happens once a decade. Mandated by our Constitution, the Census is responsible for allocating more than $800 billion in federal funding and determining the number of U.S. Representatives serving your community. Despite its importance, the Census has suffered from an undercount every ten years since it began.

By standing up and being counted in the 2020 Census, you’re ensuring that Florida gets its fair share of the federal funding it needs for our fire and police departments, schools, and health care centers, including funding for programs such as Medicaid, Head Start, affordable housing, food stamps, and many more.

Civic engagement is power. If you have not already done so, please join me in completing the Census, so that we can ensure that power is distributed equally in our country and everyone has the representation they deserve.
