Make Sure You Are Counted In The 2020 Census

Dear Friend,

As we approach March and April, you’ll begin to hear more and more about the 2020 Census.

The Census is the most important count of people in our country and it only happens once a decade. Mandated by our Constitution, the Census is responsible for allocating more than $800 billion in federal funding and determining the number of U.S. Representatives serving your community. Despite its importance, the Census has suffered from an undercount every ten years since it began.

By standing up and being counted in the 2020 Census, you’re ensuring that Florida gets its fair share of the federal funding it needs for our fire and police departments, schools, and health care centers, including funding for programs such as Medicaid, Head Start, affordable housing, food stamps, and many more. By responding to the Census this year – whether online, by mail, or by phone – you can make a lasting difference in our community for years to come.

Making sure you are counted is critical, but you can also be a part of history and make an even greater difference by ensuring a full and accurate count of everyone in our community! The U.S. Census Bureau is looking to hire 500,000 part-time census takers now. Please visit my website to learn more or reach out to my district office at (954) 733-2800 with any questions about this once-a-decade opportunity to not only shape your future, but the future of all of Florida.
