Marnita Coleman
Growing up in the shadow of a music industry executive, Marnita Coleman learned the “real” business of music. Marnita had the privilege of working in Gospo Centric’s East Office, were she developed first-class promotion and marketing skills breaking out this industry’s top acts like Kirk Franklin, Dorinda Clark Cole, Tramaine Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, Trin-i-tee 5:7, Byron Cage, Kirk Carr, Gospel Gangstaz, and the rest. Marnita also worked with other labels in the promotion of Pastor Shirley Caesar, The Winans, Dottie Peoples, Maurette Brown Clark, Jonathan Butler, Howard Hewett, Ben Tankard, and other indie artists.
Ultimately, Marnita spread her wings to form her own rendition of music marketing – IamMarnita.com LLC. In line with the call to the nations on her life, Marnita became the U.S. Rep for the Dove Awards winning label, Zoe Records of London (the largest gospel record company in the UK). She also negotiates international bookings and has booked artists such as Tasha Cobbs Leonard and Travis Greene. Marnita is still developing her company’s international presence in territories such Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, France, England and Canada. “I believe God strategically placed me in this industry to shepherd the amazing flock of artists and musicians from around the world,” she proclaims.
With an ear for music and heart for people, Marnita served in public radio as an on-air host of Baltimore’s much loved “Gospel Grace” Program on Jazz 88.9 FM. Ms. Coleman also acted as producer of the legendary Jeff Majors syndicated radio show, “Sunday Morning Joy,” on the Radio One.
Marnita was ordained as a minister, where she served as an overseer of congregational care, teacher and small groups leader. Over the years, she has been strong in community outreach, working with youth, families, and teaching parenting. Marnita was hired by a local church as Director of Children and Youth Ministries as a result of her community outreach. The Lord used her mightily to bring restoration to that inner-city area and the congregation. She is an author, speaker and facilitator of interactive parenting workshops.
In 2017, The Marnita Show radio program debuted, a 30-minute talk/music format on parenting. “Parenting is my lifeblood. I want to be the person that helps others appreciate the amazing opportunity God has given us to oversee the development and growth of children. It’s humbling to know God chose me for this assignment. I am grateful and I love it!” The show now airs everyday across the globe. It’s changing lives and impacting families.
At the end of the day, Marnita loves God, people and her two BFFs, who happen to be her daughters.
