MIAMI, FL – It’s almost holiday time in South Florida, and the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce (M-DCC) is ready to celebrate! Plans are in motion for the event of the season as the M-DCC gears up for their seventh annual gala. All of South Florida is invited to join them and title sponsor Resorts World Miami for an enchanting evening of dinner, dancing and fun on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Miami Downtown, 1601 Biscayne Blvd. Themed as the “7 Degrees of Empowerment,” the chamber will identify the seven tools used to embolden Miami-Dade organizations to succeed.

A star-studded lineup is in store. This year’s gala will be hosted by renowned actor and business executive Boris Kodjoe and co-hosted along with WTVJ-NBC6 Anchor Sharon Lawson. Entertainment will soar off the charts with performances by the legendary hip-hop deejay, Rob Base.

“From business advocacy to trade promotion, networking opportunities, empowerment forums and so much more, the Miami-Dade Chamber unlocks our market’s potential, empowering every business to prosper,” said Bill Diggs, president and CEO of the M-DCC. “Our gala clearly is set to be the highlight event of the season – not just because it will be a fun night in downtown Miami, but also because we’ll showcase the great work we did all year to bring dollars to South Florida business owners.”

The M-DCC continues their tradition of honoring local figures at the gala that have made a significant impact on the South Florida community. Three illustrious leaders will be awarded the chamber’s highest and most prestigious of honors.

Guests will get to relive the early days of hip-hop with Rob Base providing the evening’s entertainment. The rap pioneer gained international fame with singles like It Takes Two and Joy and Pain.

M-DCC member, Actor Boris Kodjoe, will host the event and showcase his budding business, World of Alfa. Specializing in custom-tailored, made-to-order suits and dress shirts, Kodjoe is looking forward to reaping all the business growth benefits earned by members of the chamber.

“When I saw what Bill was doing with the chamber, it was a no-brainer to lend my support to his efforts,” said Kodjoe.  “My new line targets an international audience, and the Miami-Dade Chamber’s expansive reach goes far beyond these shores as they partner with businesses from Malaysia to the Caribbean. I’m just excited to see all the great things this partnership will produce.”

Sponsorships offer tremendous added value including extensive media exposure and the opportunity to promote your company to South Florida’s noted business executives, elected officials, professionals and community influencers.
