          Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) have partnered to expand mental health education awareness and to support activities on college campuses in local communities.

    Upsilon Xi Omega Chapter (UXO) of Alpha Kappa Alpha collaborated with NAMI Walks on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at Tradewinds Park-South, 3600 W. Sample Rd., Coconut Creek, Fla. The walks will take place from 6:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

    One thousand people from the community along with 20 members from Upsilon Xi Omega were in attendance. Deborah Bowen, Health Chairman and Kathy Jones, President of Upsilon Xi Omega and other members participated in various activities by helping with table set-ups, healthy food distribution, securing water and escorting attendees to the a propriate locations.
