    The ladies of the North Broward County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated are thrilled to invite the community to attend its third Annual Denim and Diamonds “Dancing for A Cause” Gala on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the Gulfstream Park, Sport of Kings Ballroom (2nd Level), 901 S Fed. Hwy., Hallandale Beach, Fla.

The lineup of celebrity dancers and judges this year include Broward County Sherriff, Scott Israel; School Board Member, Dr. Rosalind Osgood; Heat Director/Choreographer, Janine Thompson; CEO of Parent Information Resource Center, Janet Ward; CEO of Artserve, Jaye Abbate; Former Miami NFL Dolphin Player, James McKnight, president, Circle of One Marketing, Suzann McDowell; Former Washington Bullets NBA player and Recruiter for Phoenix Suns, Eddie Jones, Sun Sentinel Editorial writer Doug Lyons; President/ CEO of Girl Power, Thema Campbell; Paul Wilson son of Congress-woman Frederica Wilson, District 24, founder of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence and  other community leaders. Tamara Gant, Hot-105 and Calvin Hughes, news anchor on WPLG Local 10 are co-hosts.

The evening starts with a Premier Reception at 6 p.m. that will feature live entertainment by Randy Corinthians, Peter London Dance Company, musical performance by Rochelle Lightfoot, hot hors d’oeuvres, photo opportunity with celebrity judges and dancers, early preview of silent auction items, champagne, and casino chips and much more for $100. General admission starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $75, which includes dinner, live music and dancing.

Newly elected Chapter President, Earlene Striggles Horne is so excited about this upcoming friend-raiser and stated that “North Broward County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has a vital role to play in our community’s future, and strongly feels that with your continued support this fund-raiser will help us to provide the programming that will transform the vibrant intellectual potential of our children into reality”. Proceeds from this event will be used to support our “Girls On The Move” program that teaches middle school girls healthy eating and nutrition, our senior health fair, college fair and youth tutoring/ mentoring programs as well as many other community service projects.
