Pompano Beach CRA Announces Grand Opening of Lucre

Boutique Skate Shop Features Expertly Curated International Fashions and Streetwear

The Pompano Beach CRA today announced the ribbon cutting ceremony for Lucre, an exciting “skate couture” boutique located on Atlantic Boulevard. This new lifestyle concept carries an arwray of international brands including Pas De Mer, Butter Goods, XLarge, OnlyNY and Quasi Skateboards. The Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is Wednesday, November 6 from 5 p.m.  7 p.m. The Grand Opening is Thursday, November 7 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are required at www.lucreindustries.com.

“My goal with Lucre is to create a unique retail experience,” said Matthew Ricci, owner. “I am elated to bring something cool to the community and create a space that will attract like-minded people.”

Ricci dreamt about establishing his own retail environment since he was 16. Leaving chiropractic school, he became a merchandise manager for J. Crew to learn the ‘ins and outs’ of store design. His knack is finding brands that bridge the gap between “now and then.” This style resonates with discerning customers who crave quality but also demand a casual street edge. His aesthetic is also evident in his carefully curated selection of skateboards which simultaneously serve as colorful wall art.

While Lucre offers a tremendous online selection, Ricci encourages people to visit his bricks-n-mortar location to experience the vibe and the one-on-one customer service.

“This boutique is not about picking the clothes off the rack yourself,” he explained. “We showcase a variety of selections, but only display one of each design. We want to interact with our customers, provide style suggestions and develop real relationships.”

The store is also punctuated with a plethora of vintage toys and collectibles of times past. Bart Simpson dolls along with action figures and one-of- a- kind comics decorate the shelf space, adding a sense of whimsy to the boutique’s clean minimalistic style. “I feature a lot of ‘end of an era’—late 80s through 90s items, presenting a nostalgic mood for that generation’s childhood,” he said.

Ricci, a Pompano Beach resident, was determined to open his store in the City, so he was thrilled when he learned of the availability in the CRA district. Ricci will be involved in upcoming CRA events including Old Town Untapped and is planning a series of events at the store.  For more information visit www.lucreindustries.com
