    Professional Opportunities Program for Students, Inc. host student award ceremony

          Professional Opportunities Program for Students, Inc. (P.O.P.S.) will be hosting our 2011-2012 Student Awards Ceremony at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce (512 NW a Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Fla 33301) on Thursday,  August 9, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for all of our students, employers and community partners.

          We have invited some of our elegy officials (Mayor Jack Sellers, County Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness and County Administrator Bertha Henry) to award the students for a job well done this school year and completion of their summer internship.

       We have eight graduates who will be pursuing a degree of higher learning at the various colleges and universities such as Florida Memorial University, St. Thomas University, Broward College, Florida A&M University and Miami Dade College.

          We would like for all of our students, employers and community partners to be recognize not only by our organization, but within the very communities these students, employers and community partners reside and serve.

          Professional Opportunities Program for Students, Inc is a non-profit, 501(cX3) community based organization that serves youth between the ages of 15-18 who face social and economic barriers that result in a lack of opportunity for personal growth and professional development POPS assists youth with the necessary skills and opportunities to reach their personal goals.

          We are able to accomplish this goal by reducing risk factors through counseling, tutoring, character education and development, financial literacy, and workforce development training.
