Gently used bikes can be brought to any Rick Case Automotive Group dealership in Broward County

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL —A bicycle can be a big-ticket item that lands on holiday gift lists every year, but not every family can afford to fulfill that wish. For 45 years, Rick Case Bikes for Kids has been collecting gently used bicycles from the community that will be passed along to local children and teens who are yearning for a set of wheels. From now until December 20, the community is encouraged to bring bikes they’re no longer riding to any Rick Case Automotive Group dealership.

The dealerships will ensure the bolts are tightened and the tires are inflated before distributing the bikes to children and teens at the Boys & Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, Women in Distress and other local charitable organizations, churches, synagogues and schools. Since 1982, Rick Case Bikes for Kids has had an incredible impact on local communities by collecting more than 124,000 bikes in Georgia, Florida and Ohio over the course of 45 years from generous members of the community.

“Every generation has trendy toys that come and go in popularity and new technology, but a staple of childhood that stands the test of time is bicycle riding,” said Rita Case, President and CEO of the Rick Case Automotive Group. “A core childhood memory is learning to balance on two wheels for the first time and removing the training wheels. Every child deserves that sense of accomplishment, and every parent deserves that bonding experience. Riding a bike solo or with family and friends is a great form of exercise and takes everyone away from screens for a bit and into the great outdoors. Life changes and kids grow up, so it’s quite common that families have bikes in the garage that their kids have outgrown. Bring them to us, so those bikes can be rejuvenated and passed along to kids who will continue to cherish them.”

Bikes can be dropped off at the following Rick Case Automotive Group dealerships:

    * Rick Case Honda / 15700 Rick Case Honda Way (I-75 at Griffin Road), Davie

    * Rick Case Acura / 875 North State Road 7 (on 441 at Sunrise), Ft. Lauderdale

    * Rick Case Hyundai / 925 North State Road 7 (on 441 at Sunrise), Ft. Lauderdale
