Come out Friday, Nov. 29, 2013 from 4 to 10 p.m. at Huizenga Plaza, One East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. For more details call (954) 828-4742 and enjoy true gospel music, presented by Big Dreams for Kids in association with International Music Group, Strong Arm Productions, the City of Fort Lauderdale and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA).

This is the first year this event will be held in the City of Fort Lauderdale. The DDA must be commended for assisting with securing this concert for Fort Lauderdale and Broward County.  Through the efforts of DDA Board President, Greg Durden, residents and visitors alike will be able to relax Friday afternoon to outstanding musical performances that will help us all jumpstart the holidays on the right foot.

“When the event was broached, I knew we had to jump on it. I have been discussing hosting something like this with Com-missioner DuBose for some time now. There was no way we were going to let this opportunity slip through our hands,” said Durden.  “Can you imagine being able to offer this caliber of talent to our residents and visitors at absolutely no charge?”

The organizer of the Gospel Explosion has deep roots in South Florida and the music industry. His love of God, family and community is what motivates him to produce this type of event.

“Gospel music is soul stirring, it moves people, we are excited to work on the second Annual Gospel Explosion,” said Flo Rida, founder of International Music Group and Big Dreams For Kids Foundation. “Inspiring words whether spoken or in song can make a world of difference in the life of a dreamer – I wouldn’t be where I am without them; this is just one of the many ways we want to inspire big dreams for the families in our community.”

Residents are encouraged to come early and stay late. This event is free and open to the public. The City of Fort Lauderdale is looking forward to making this an annual event. Community building has become the new tagline for the city and this event brings the entire community together to celebrate, rekindle friendships and make new ones and simply enjoy great gospel music.

City of Fort Lauderdale Commissioner Bobby DuBose is quite pleased to have the gospel explosion in our own backyard. “We are ecstatic that Flo Rida and his team have chosen Fort Lauderdale as the backdrop for this most amazing concert.  I can’t think of a better way to bring our community together and to jumpstart the holiday season in Fort Lauder-dale. We are already looking forward to next year!”

Tell your neighbors, your friends and your choir members to come out to second annual Gospel Explosion. Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening under the stars with the dynamic talents of Yolanda Adams, Tye Tribbett, Fred Hammond, Deitrick Haddon, Jessica Reedy and more.
