In commemoration of 100 years of service, the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will host a Free Legal Clinic on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  It will be held at the Delta House – Kathleen C. Wright Delta Education Life Development Center located in Osswald Park at 2250 NW 21st Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL  33311.  All adults are invited and encouraged to attend this informative and enlightening event.

The Free Legal Clinic will offer limited legal advice and referrals to those residents of Broward County and the surrounding communities who otherwise may not have access to legal systems due to financial barriers.  “Regardless of the situation, it is important that we all know our rights.  So come out on April 20th to empower yourself through knowledge and education,” says Alfreda D. Coward, Esq.  There will be a host of attorneys, realtors, bank representatives and other trained professionals ready to render free advice.  Refreshments will be served.

This event is being sponsored by numerous entities, some of which are the Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; the Delta Education and Life Development Center; Senator Christopher Smith, Minority Leader of the Senate; Representative Perry Thurston, Minority Leader of the House; Law Offices of Coward & Co-ward, P.A.; Law Offices of E.F. Robinson, P.A.; Anderson Law Group, P.A.; Mary McPherson Lewis, P.A. and Robinson Caddy Law.  The trained volunteers are all members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; a sisterhood which has a long successful history of providing public service programs to the residents of Broward County.

Need information about child support or visitation?  Need a home? Losing a home? Need a Will? Have overdue bills? Need records sealed or expunged?  We have answers!  It’s time to know your rights.
